I decided to go ahead and have another giveaway for the Book Giveaway Carnival over at Bookroom Reviews! (My other giveaway is The Shack so feel free to enter for that one too.)
This giveaway is for an ARC copy of Time of My Life by Allison Winn Scotch. I won this book in an earlier giveaway and now I'm passing it along!
From the back cover:
Jillian Westfield has the perfect husband, the perfect baby, and the perfect lemon-scented house in the suburbs, and yet, still she finds herself wondering about the life she left behind. Back then, her boyfriend, Jackson, was unreliable, her job at an ad agency was demanding, and her West Village apartment wasn't exactly picturesque. But those days were full of possibility. Now, discontented in her faltering marriage, Jillian can't help but think about what her life would be like if she hadn't married Henry or quit her job to be a stay-at-home mom or spurned her mother's attempts to reconcile after two decades of silence. What if she'd stayed with Jackson in their bohemian apartment? What if she'd answered her mother's query? What would her life be like now?
One morning, Jillian gets a chance to find out. She wakes up in the old apartment, right in the middle of her life as it was seven years ago, before she'd made the decisions that would change everything. With twenty -twenty hindsight, Jillian has the chance to discover "what if" once and for all--and to decide which life is the one she really wants.
First of all, I have to say that this is general market fiction and has quite a bit of profanity in it. So, to give my thoughts on it for what it is...it was a great story! I'm sure most everyone has wondered "what if" at some point in their lives. What we'd have done differently if we knew then what we know now. That's what this book is about. If given a second chance, what would you do differently? Now, I really could have done without the profanity because that's just a big turn-off for me. But that's me. As far as the storyline goes, it's a great read and keeps you guessing what she's going to do next.

Hello,
ReplyDeleteSounds like an interesting book - and yes, I have had "what-if" moments..(like what if I had graduated from college in pre-med like planned instead of dropping out and getting married..)
Thanks,
Kristi
I am always having "What if..." moments, and frankly, it always seems that my life turns out for the better if I had done this instead of that. So, it works out!
ReplyDeleteThat book sounds interesting and something I would pass on to friends!

Yes, I often ask "what if" and then I realize that if I change one moment of back then, everything else after it would change, too, the good along with the bad. And I know, no matter how bad things are at any given time, it wouldn't be worth it. Work to change the now, not dream about the past. But I'd like to give this book a read and see how it goes for her. :)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to read this. Please enter me. milou2ster(at)gmail.com
