Sticky Note
I'm on a blogging break, but will be checking in from time to time. Thanks for stopping by!
This is my first
Musing Monday since it has moved over to
Just One More Page. And today's musing is:
How long do you wait after finishing a book before you pick/start another one? How many books do you have planned ahead or do you pick up random books from your tbr pile (if you have one)? Do you review right away or keep reading and come back to it later?Great questions! I'll answer them in order...
How long do you wait after finishing a book before you pick/start another one?I usually start the next book either the same day or the day after finishing one. Occasionally I'll take a break for a couple of days, but not often. I at least get the next one started.
How many books do you have planned ahead or do you pick up random books from your tbr pile (if you have one)?I usually have at least a month or two worth of books planned ahead since I review for CFBA and FIRST Wild Card. Most of my reads these days come from that, but sometimes I'll throw in a book I couldn't resist. I don't like feeling that I *have* to read a certain book next and I don't really get to choose, so I try to arrange it where I can choose between 2 or 3 books that are at the top of the list, in case I'm not in the mood for the *next* one.
Do you review right away or keep reading and come back to it later? Now this I'm bad about. Or maybe it's good. I don't write my reviews right after I finish the book, and I do that on purpose. I like to let it stew for a while and let my mind think over it again for a few days. I feel that I write a better review if I can mull it over first rather than just jumping in. I remember things from the book later that may not come to mind right after I finish the last page. But sometimes I get behind and I find myself where I *have* to write it *today.*
Check out more
Musing Mondays here and join in on the fun!
I'm the opposite of you. The longer I wait before reviewing, the more I forget!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to review, or I forget too much about the book, especially the feel of the book.
ReplyDeleteI like your review style. It definitely works for your reviews. They are always on mark. Myself, I kind of write it in a day or two. For me it depends on how quickly I get to the computer. :)
ReplyDeleteP.S... I tagged you!

I wanted to stop and thank you also for stopping by my contest. :) You rock, chica.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!!!!
Thanks for dropping by my blog! I think I write my best reviews when I let it stew, too. Sometimes I'll write notes right after reading something just in case there's a little tidbit I might forget on accident between finishing the book and starting the review. It seems to work fairly well!
ReplyDeleteYour review style sounds good. I would do the same except I have a bad memory and I'll lose details, my reaction, and I'll also get far to lazy and unmotivated to review it!
